History of Our Community

The Methodist Church of Indiana founded Franklin United Methodist Community in the early 1950's.

The original FUMC was made possible by many individual, church, and business contributions. The cornerstone of the central building, the Wesley Center, was laid in 1955. The close ties of the community to the church provide security in knowing that board members, administration, staff, residents, and volunteers are committed to continuing the tradition of quality service at FUMC. Likewise, it allows residents and their families to feel comfortable with the long-standing fiscal responsibility demonstrated over the last five decades. FUMC welcomes persons of all faiths and walks of life. Various backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences are important factors in building our reputation as a quality care retirement community!
